Olympia Fields Country Club Driving Range

Driving Range
Members love spending time on the 20 acre range trying to perfect their game. While Olympia Fields has always had a driving range, significant investment has been made in recent years to building teeing areas on both sides of the range, putting in top grade astroturf that can be used on wet, rainy days and the creation of 7 target greens which allows you to truly work on all clubs. The range is staffed by a member of the Golf Department to ensure balls are stocked, ice cold water is available and any other need are met.

Short Game Area (to open in Summer 2013)
This area is the most recent addition to our property which is going to be a huge hit for those trying to perfect their short game. This 4 acre space will contain 3 target greens which will accept chips from 80 yards and in. It will also be a perfect place to master your sand game as there will be ample types of lies, lengths of shots, and approach difficulty.

Practice Greens
3 putting greens are placed near our North and South 1st tee boxes which stand for a great place to warm up for your round or to spend hours honing the perfect putting stroke. These greens are always kept in excellent condition and provide multiple types of slopes, breaks, distances and speeds from which to practice.

Hazeltine National Golf Club Driving Range

Hazeltine claims one of the best golf practice facilities in Minneapolis and the United States and was recently named one of the Top 50 Private Golf Range Facilities by Golf Range Association of America. Comprising nearly 1.7 acres, the facility includes a 2-sided range, short game facility, and 2 putting greens. The north driving range totals approximately 50,000 square feet and features a bent grass fairway with 6 target greens canted from both sides. The south end of the range has 5 targets, as well as an area reserved strictly for junior golf.

The short game facility has 3 bunkers and bent grass area perfect for practicing shots from right off the green to 30-40 yard pitch shots. The wedge range has 2 greens with a bent grass middle and is perfect for all shots inside 100 yards. The primary putting green has an 11,000 square foot surface and simulates many of the slopes found on the course.

Long Minnesota winters don’t come between our members and their game. Our extensive indoor learning center is open year-round and features a golf simulator, contoured putting green, pool table and lounge area. The Ping Performance Studio, located within the learning center, is reserved for professional club fittings and expert golf instruction.
