West Sussex Golf Club Driving Range

The West Sussex practice ground is very conveniently situated no more than 25 yards from the Clubhouse. There are twelve practice mats and three covered bays available, plus a ball dispenser also nearby. Only purchased practice balls can be used, but at least they are collected for you at the end of each day.

The down-range view is a commanding one over Sussex countryside and straight to the Downs in the near distance. The open area now available extends for over 400 yards long by some 160 yards wide so there is plenty of room even for the longest and the wildest hitters to hone their talents here. In fact, it is difficult to imagine a larger, better and more convenient or scenically placed practice ground anywhere else! Additionally, also close by the clubhouse, lie three practice greens for putting, plus a practice bunker and an approach chipping green for these specialist shots.

All these facilities are available daily for members and for received visitors, so only the unavoidably late can really have any excuse for driving off the first tee unprepared.

A full length driving range is available with tokens for the driving range to be purchased from the Pro Shop.

For the safety of all patrons, members are only permitted to hit their own practice balls on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 1:30pm - 2:30pm, followed by a 30 minute period between 2:30pm - 3:00pm when the driving range will be closed for all hitting, to allow members to collect their own balls. 

Players are not permitted to remove range balls and baskets from the range or to hit range balls outside of the hours of operation.

The Alhambra Practice Center was the first three-level practice range constructed in the United States. We are open seven days until 11p.m. winter months/12 midnight summer months, with plenty of parking just a few steps away. Sahalee Country Club boasts outstanding practice facilities on which to hone your skills for the challenges faced on our three 9-hole golf courses.

Our driving range includes 28 individual tees, both regular and artificial turf, and is 270 yards in length. It includes a practice bunker to the right of the tee for long iron and short iron practice. Range balls are full flight top of the line golf balls which are replaced twice a year.

Members love spending time on the 20 acre range trying to perfect their game. While Olympia Fields has always had a driving range, significant investment has been made in recent years to building teeing areas on both sides of the range, putting in top grade astroturf that can be used on wet, rainy days and the creation of 7 target greens which allows you to truly work on all clubs. Hazeltine National Golf Club Driving Range

Hazeltine claims one of the best golf practice facilities in Minneapolis and the United States and was recently named one of the Top 50 Private Golf Range Facilities by Golf Range Association of America. Comprising nearly 1.7 acres, the facility includes a 2-sided range, short game facility, and 2 putting greens. The north driving range totals approximately 50,000 square feet and features a bent grass fairway with 6 target greens canted from both sides. The south end of the range has 5 targets, as well as an area reserved strictly for junior golf.

The short game facility has 3 bunkers and bent grass area perfect for practicing shots from right off the green to 30-40 yard pitch shots. The wedge range has 2 greens with a bent grass middle and is perfect for all shots inside 100 yards. The primary putting green has an 11,000 square foot surface and simulates many of the slopes found on the course.

Long Minnesota winters don’t come between our members and their game. Our extensive indoor learning center is open year-round and features a golf simulator, contoured putting green, pool table and lounge area. Both our Member Course and Tournament Course boast a 31,000 square foot teeing area to create a double-ended driving range, featuring nine target areas ranging from 100-300 yards. An extensive short game area includes the following:

• Two large practice putting greens:

1. The Tournament Course practice green has miniverde bermudagrass and consists of 10,000 sq ft of putting surface that mimics the contours found on the course. In October each year, this green is overseeded with bentgrass, poa trivialis and perennial ryegrass.
2. The Member Course practice green has tifeagle bermudagrass and also boasts a 10,000 sq ft putting surface. This green imitates the subtle breaks found on the hard-to-read Member Course greens.

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif.– After more than 20 years of planning, Pebble Beach Resorts officially broke ground on the new Pebble Beach Driving Range and state-of-the-art Golf Academy today. The ceremony, led by Pebble Beach Company Chief Executive Officer Bill Perocchi, marked the beginning of the Del Monte Forest Project, a multi-phase development and conservation plan designed to protect native habitat, update and expand resort facilities, improve access, and enhance the overall guest, visitor, and resident experience at Pebble Beach Resorts. Other components of the project include 100 new guest rooms and expanded group meeting space at The Lodge at Pebble Beach and The Inn at Spanish Bay; improved traffic access near the Highway 1 gate into Pebble Beach; supplementary parking areas at The Lodge and The Inn; 90 residential lots; a new 100-room hotel near Spyglass Hill Golf Course; and the preservation of an additional 635 acres of native habitat.

“We are excited about the significant enhancements that we will be making to the resort over the next several years,” said Perocchi, “starting with the new driving range for Pebble Beach Golf Links and the new and improved Golf Academy, as well as more than 600 acres of native habitat being dedicated to the Del Monte Forest Conservancy.”

Located across Portola Road from the current range, the new Pebble Beach Driving Range will be double-ended and nearly twice the size of the existing range. Guests will enjoy expanded hitting bays and target greens, as well as a new, larger putting green, practice bunkers, and chipping tees and greens. Directly adjacent to the range, the new 3,000-square-foot Pebble Beach Golf Academy will feature cutting edge instructional technology, an expanded club fitting area, and a covered hitting bay for lessons. World-renowned instructors Laird Small and Dan Pasquariello—both listed as top teachers in the United States by both Golf Digest and Golf Magazine—will continue to provide personalized instruction and custom-tailored lessons. The new range and Pebble Beach Golf Academy will open in January 2014, prior the 2014 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. The current range will remain open to guests during construction.

Over the next ten years, the Del Monte Forest Project is expected to create more than 200 permanent hospitality positions and thousands more construction-related jobs. In addition, the conservation of an additional 635 acres of native habitat, together with lands previously preserved by the Company, means that 25 percent of the Del Monte Forest will be protected forever for future generations to enjoy. In May 2012, the California Coastal Commission unanimously approved the plan, calling it a “landmark” project due to its protection for local habitat as well as its visitor-serving and public access components.

“The Del Monte Forest Project speaks to the spirit of perseverance as well as the cooperation between the California Coastal Commission, the County, and the Pebble Beach Company that have allowed us to reach this milestone,” Perocchi added. “We believe guests visit Pebble Beach for the first time because this is a special place, marked by beauty, history, and world-renowned golf. They return year after year because of the world-class service delivered by our employees and of our goal to always ‘Keep Improving.’ This project is yet another step in that direction.”
